Batman V Superman projected box-office looking at $154 million

There’s a good month-and-a-bit before it hits cinemas, but Hollywood is already starting to think about the Batman V Superman projected box-office. According to Box Office, the $200 million movie is looking
to take a whopping $154 million it its opening weekend on domestic soil,  which isn’t too shabby.
When you compare Batman V Superman projected box-office similar movies, like the first Avengers movie, then that pales in comparison. Joss Whedon’s superhero ensemble was the biggest opening movie of all time for a little while, until Jurassic World and Star Wars: The Force Awakens came along, so the Dawn Of Justice take is looking to fall a little short. That said, it’s a huge increase of what Man Of Steel took when it opened in the summer of 2013. The first Superman movie that starred Henry Cavill, made $116.6 million in June of that year, and then $291 million for its entire north American run. At the moment, the same website is putting the total Batman V Superman projected box-office at around $380 million domestically. Compare that to Avengers’ $623 million, and we’re still a little short.
Opening on the same weekend (March 25th) in the United States is My Big Fat Greek  Wedding 2, the sequel to one of the most profitable movies of all time, and also Relativity Media’s The Disappointments Room.
So, with Batman V Superman looking at a $154 million opening, that would make it the 10th highest-grossing opening weekend of all-time, which isn’t bad, but we’re guessing that Warner Bros. and DC’s August opener Suicide Squad could come very close to the Batman V Superman haul. There’s some great buzz around David Ayer’s DC villains movie, and a solid first trailer which debuted earlier this month.
