Troops recapture armoured personnel carrier from Boko Haram

The troops of the Nigerian Army have recaptured an Armoured Personnel Carrier of the Army from Boko Haram,The Acting Director, Army Public Relation, Col. Sani Usman, said that the recaptured APC was taken
away by the Boko Haram when they attacked Buni Yadi, Yobe State on July 9, 2015.
He said that the APC, which was discovered by the Golgore River, had been evacuated from the area.
Usman said troops of the 120 Task Force Battalion, which carried out the operation, also destroyed the camps of the insurgents at Bulasari.
According to him, the troops also killed an unspecified number of insurgents during the operation in which a soldier received gunshot wounds.
Usman said that the wounded soldier was responding to treatment at the General Hospital, Damaturu.
“In continuation of the clearance operations of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists’ reported locations and hideouts by the military, troops of  of 120 Task Force Battalion cleared the  camp at Bulasari. This is coming after clearing Golgore camp yesterday, Tuesday, 15th March 2016.
“During the operation, quite a number of the Boko Haram terrorists were killed, while one of our soldiers sustained gunshot wound. The solder’s condition is stable and is currently being managed at Damaturu General Hospital.
“One of the most significant aspects of the operation was the recovery of Nigerian Army Armoured Personnel Carrier earlier captured by the terrorists during an attack on Buni Yadi on 9th July 2015. The APC was discovered at Golgore River line and it has since been evacuated,” the statement read in part.
He said that the operation was a demonstration of the commitment of the military and the security agencies to rid the country of the scourge of the Boko Haram insurgency.
