BREAKING - Trump Cry Out For Biden To Step Down Following Taliban take over Afghanistan

Donald Trump called for President Joe Biden to step down "in disgrace" in the

wake of the U.S. troop pullout from Afghanistan and the Taliban's takeover of the country.

The Afghan security forces and the government fell to the Taliban as insurgent forces entered the country's capital city of Kabul Sunday in a lightning surge two decades after they were toppled by the American invasion, according to reports.

The Taliban accomplished one of their main objectives in seizing the capital without any military resistance more than two weeks before the August 31 deadline set by Biden to complete the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country.

A few days ago, U.S. officials estimated it would take a month for the Taliban to reach the capital -- and around three months to capture the city -- but the insurgents have successfully carried out a blitz that shocked them all.

"It's time for Biden to resign in disgrace for what he's allowed to happen to Afghanistan," Trump said in a statement, according to the Washington Examiner.

The former president also blasted Biden for the "surge in COVID-19, the Border disaster, the elimination of energy reliance, and the country's devastated crippled economy."

Trump's statement was released moments after diplomats and other U.S. nationals working at the embassy in Kabul were instructed to move to the airport and ordered to shelter in place following reports the airport was under assault.

Kabul is Afghanistan's last major government stronghold. As the Taliban forces stormed through the capital, American personnel descended on the airport as they prepare to vacate the country. President Ashraf Ghani fled to Tajikistan on Sunday, Newsweek reported.

Trump has repeatedly been very vocal against how Biden is handling the situation in Afghanistan. "It should not be a big deal," Trump said, "because he (Biden) wasn't elected legitimately in the first place!"

Trump has also called the situation in Afghanistan "not acceptable" and that the Biden administration should have "done much better," adding the pullout of American troops would have been a "conditions-based withdrawal."

Under Trump, the U.S. brokered an accord with the Taliban in Doha last year, which would have paved the way for the U.S. to pull out all its military personnel by May this year, in exchange for various security demands from the insurgents.

The U.S. Republicans have slammed Biden for the ongoing chaos in Afghanistan, where America and some of its allies had maintained a presence for 20 years.
