UPDATE - FA Cup: Rooney singles out one Man Utd player after Derby County loses 2-0

Derby County striker, Wayne Rooney, has said his former Manchester United team-mate Sergio Romero, was not kind to him during their 3-0 defeat in the FA Cup fifth round tie on Thursday...

Romero denied Rooney twice from free-kicks, as the former England man looked to score against a club where he is still the all-time leading goalscorer.

Odion Ighalo, who joined United in January on a six-month deal, scored twice as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men strolled in the quarter-finals.

However, Rooney was keen to register even a single goal against the Red Devils, but Romero was not in a charitable mood.

“Sergio was not in a kind mood. He could have let that one in,” Rooney told BT Sport about his last chance in stoppage time.

“It would have been nice, but it wasn’t to be.”
