BREAKING - Nigeria Records 474 New Cases Of Coronavirus

 


According to the statistics released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, the

Federal Capital Territory Abuja recorded 180 new cases, the highest for the day, followed by Lagos with 134 new cases. 

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC has announced that a total of 474 new cases of the ravaging coronavirus pandemic was confirmed yesterday, December 9.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.

According to the statistics released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, the Federal Capital Territory Abuja recorded 180 new cases, the highest for the day, followed by Lagos with 134 new cases.

Other states with fresh cases include Kebbi-45, Adamawa-26, Plateau-16, Enugu-14, Taraba-14, Gombe-12, Nasarawa-8, Yobe-8, Rivers-5, Ogun-5, Kwara-2, Ekiti-2, Sokoto-2, and Osun-1.

Nigeria now has 70,669 confirmed cases of the viral disease. 65,242 patients have so far been discharged with 1,184 deaths recorded so far.

Many are hoping on the recently approved COVID-19 vaccine to curb the spread of the virus.

Though people with significant allergic reactions have been warned against receiving the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, after two people suffered allergic reactions to it.

According to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) the independent watchdog responsible for approving vaccines for use in this country – two NHS staff who received the coronavirus jab on its first day of use suffered adverse effects, the pair are now recovering.
