Tobiloba Amusan nominated for Women’s World Athlete of the year award



 Nigeria’s Favorite golden girl, Oluwatobiloba Amusan has been nominated for the Women’s World Athlete of the year award.

The universe Athletics released nominees for the award on its official Twitter handle few hours ago.

Amusan is the ever first Nigerian athlete in history to be contesting for the prestigious award.

9 other athletes were also nominated for the award by the World Athletics.

Other nominees names are; Shanuae Miller-Uibo, Kimberly Garcia, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Shericka Jackson and Yulimar Rojas.

Faith Kipyegon, Shelly-Ann Fraser- Pryce, Chase Ealey and Sydney McLaughlin will also vie for the individual price.

Amusan won gold medal in the 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America in June.

The 25-year-old also set a new world record of 12.12s in the semi-final.

She also took back her Diamond League title this year.
