Adesanya, a former middleweight champion of the UFC, was detained in the US for having metal knuckles

At the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, Israel Adesanya, a former middleweight champion

of the UFC, was detained for bringing brass knuckles through airport security.

He was detained by Port Authority police on Wednesday at 1:57 EST for having "metal knuckles," according to the Daily Mail.

Remember how Adesanya lost his belt to Alex Pereira last Saturday in New York by technical knockout?

Brass knuckles are metal objects that are shaped to go around the knuckles. They are also hand-to-hand weapons that are fist-loaded.

Brass knuckles are a Class A misdemeanor in New York and are not permitted on airplanes.
