Father is killed by his son after a dispute over a bucket of water



 In the Mangu Local Government region of Asaf state, Plateau State Police have detained a

25-year-old man named Bernard Danlami for reportedly stabbing his father to death. 

Onyeka Bartholomew, the state's commissioner of police, announced the suspect's arrest to reporters on Friday at the command headquarters in Jos. 

Over a pail of water, Bernard and Zugumnan, his younger brother, had gotten into a fight. 

The suspect was blamed by their father, Danladi Mangna, who flogged him after attempting to mediate the argument between his children.

The suspect smashed his father in the head with a stone after becoming enraged by his father's behavior, which ultimately caused him to die. 

"On 12/05/2022 at around 1800 hours, a case of culpable homicide was reported at Mangu Police Station of the command that on 11/05/2022 at around 2120 hours, a fight broke out between two brothers, Bernard Danlami "m," 25, and Zugumnan Danlami "m," 18, of COCIN shamsoho, Kerang Mangu LGA, over a bucket of water," according to Bartholomew. However, while their father, one Danladi Mangna, reprimanded Bernard Danladi for being impolite and beat him with a stick, the aforementioned Bernard chose a stone and struck his father in the forehead, causing a significant injury that ultimately ended in his father's death.

“ The suspect was detained and questioned as soon as the case was received. The accused admitted to committing the crime. As soon as the inquiry is over, he will be charged in court.
