CBN Announces a New Date and Extends the Deadline for Old to New Naira Notes

 The Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, has announced a delay

in the deadline for exchanging old notes for new ones.

Emefiele revealed that the news came after President Muhammadu Buhari's blessing on January 29th. The new exchange period will extend until February 10 with an additional 7 days for Nigerians to return the old notes to the CBN before the currency loses its legal tender.
