Presidential election: Peter Obi is ahead of Tinubu in Lagos

In the results of the Saturday presidential election held in Lagos, Mr. Peter Obi of

the Labour Party is in the lead by a narrow margin.

Before the results were collated at 10:00 am, INEC had proclaimed 17 local governments as of 3:30 am.

However, Peter Obi won seven local government areas, while Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in the lead with ten currently in his possession.

Agege, Apapa, Badagry, Epe, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ibeju-Lekki, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and Surulere were all won by Tinubu.

In the meantime, Obi has won Eti-Osa, Amuwo Odofin, Ikeja, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, and Somolu.

Obi received 449,088 votes overall, while Tinubu received 416,431.

All that is anticipated are the outcomes of Alimosho, Ojo, and Mushin. Mushin LG's result was initially announced by the collation officer but was later rejected because of a disagreement with the figure.

With results for Alimosho, Ojo, and Mushin expected, Tinubu, a former governor of the state, is still predicted to win the majority of votes in the state.

The most populous state, Alimosho, may provide the APC presidential candidate an advantage over his bitter rival, even though he also won Mushin.

However, Ojo, which is heavily populated by non-indigenous people, notably Igbos, is predicted to go to Obi.
