Respect the Supreme Court, the Naira redesign has hurt your reputation, ACF to Buhari

According to the Arewa Consultative Forum, President Muhammadu Buhari's reputation as a

democrat has been tarnished by the redesign of the naira.

The forum warned that a breakdown in peace and order in Nigeria could result from the scarcity brought on by the redesign of the naira.

Murtala Aliyu, the secretary-general of the forum, said in a statement on Sunday that Buhari should abide by the Supreme Court's decision over outdated naira notes. The Supreme Court of Nigeria ruled around ten days ago that Buhari violated the constitution when he ordered the CBN to redesign the naira without first engaging the National Council of States and the federal executive council, according to Aliyu.

As his steadfast supporters, we would be negligent if we did not caution that the much-touted advantages of the Naira redesign could never outweigh the harm to his reputation as a democrat and a stickler for the rule of law.
