DSS welcomes suspended EFCC chairman, Bawa

Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes

Commission, was invited for questioning on Wednesday night by the Department of State Services, or DSS.

Bawa arrived a few hours ago, according to a statement issued by the agency's public relations officer, Peter Afunanya.

The invitation "relates to some investigative activities concerning him," it was stated.

President Bola Tinubu had earlier in the day suspended Bawa due to serious charges of abuse of power made against him.

He was instructed to immediately transfer control of his office's operations to the Director of Operations of the Commission, who will manage the office's operations until the investigation is over.
