MTV Shuga Naija: All you need to watch out for as Season 4 kicks off

As MTV Shuga Naija returns for season 4, viewers and fans of the youth-focused Pan African..

TV series are on the lookout for the twist and turns.

In a chat with Pulse, Timini Egbuson, who plays the character of Tobi in the series says the new season will answer so many questions from previous seasons.

“For you to enjoy and understand why anything happened in Season 4, you will need to watch previous again. Many people often say the stories aren’t connected but if you watch the previous seasons, then you will enjoy and understand every scene in season 4,” Egbuson told Pulse.

Tobi Bakre, who joins the series as the character, Segun, said the experience on the set of MTV Shuga Naija was mind blowing. "I can tell you being on that set was something on another level. I have been on some movie sets but kicked off my acting career on the set of 'Hustle'. And when I got on the set of MTV Shuga Naija, the professionalism was on another level. I mean everything went on with little or no hitch and the story line is something that blew my mind," Bakre said.

Here are some of the important things to watch out for as the season 4 premieres in October

1. MTV Shuga Naija Season 4 will kick off on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, and it’s themed ‘Choices.’
2. The show returns with the trials and tribulations of the students of Molade Memorial High, the glitz and underbelly of Lagos nightlife and the family dramas of our characters from Kano. 
3. Again, the series explores the themes of love, heartache, broken dreams and the struggle to overcome life's challenges, in order to empower young people to make informed decisions about their sexual reproductive health and highlight the responsibility of adults to support the right to sex education and health services for young people between the ages of 15-24 years.  
4. This season will see Richard Mofe-Damijo, Funsho Adeolu, Tobi Bakre alongside Osas Ighodaro joining the cast.
5. The returning cast for season 4 includes Funlola Raimi Aofiyebi, Timini Egbuson, Rahama Sadau, Yakubu Mohammed, Bukola Oladipupo, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Amal Umar, Alvin Abayomi, Helena Nelson, and Ruby Akabueze among others.
6. In addition to the new season, MTV Shuga unveiled a brand new theme song for the drama, featuring top Nigerian artistes, Larry Gaaga, and Vector Tha Viper.

MTV Shuga Naija season 4 has Tope Oshin as the lead directors with Daniel Ademinokan as one of the three directors. Georgia Arnold returns as the Executive Director, MTV Staying Alive Foundation, and a major force behind the TV series.
